David Weekly

Founder & Chairman , PBwiki

David Weekly is a programmer, entrepreneur, writer, and adventurer. He's been programming since he was five and has coded for MIT, Harvard, Stanford, There.com, atWeb, and Legato.

David wrote the first layman's description of MP3 in early 1997 and graduated in 2000 with a BS in Computer Science from Stanford, where he was a President Scholar and a finalist in the ACM International Programming Competition.

He founded PBwiki (aka, PeanutButterWiki), a successful, multi-million dollar business. He developed and launched the PBwiki service, raised $2.6m of capital and hired a team of 20+. The service now used by 500,000 groups and half the Fortune 500.

He also served as the Executive Director of the non-profit Online Policy Group whose California Community Colocation Project he founded in 2000 and grew to several hundred servers across North America.

He has gone to boarding school in Canada, organized surveys in Sweden, taught computer classes in Ghana, "warwalked" Frankfurt, crashed with locals in Tunisia, and traveled around the world in 18 days.

He likes to throw hacker parties, fly helicopters, ride his motorcycle, and make useful things.
