What Does Nearsoft Do?

We work exclusively with software product companies and help them grow their development team with engineers in Mexico.

We work in long-term relationships with our clients.  We don't do "projects," we work with our clients to create high-impact software products.  We assemble teams of people who are smart and get things done to work as a seamless extension of our clients' development team.  We value commitment, leadership, teamwork and measure ourselves on these values.

Where is Nearsoft Located?

Nearsoft is headquartered in San Jose, California.  Our other office, where the heavy lifting is done, is in Hermosillo, the capital of Sonora state, directly south of Arizona.  If you put your finger on Phoenix and flip it over the border, that's where you'll find us.

What's Different about Nearsoft?

From the beginning, we set out to create a service best fit for software product companies. Not banks or insurance companies or government, just software product companies.  Before Nearsoft, we had many years of experience creating software products ourselves and knew first-hand the frustration of trying to work with people half-way across the world.  So, why not do this nearby, like in Mexico?  It would eliminate the time difference and minimize cultural impedance.  Someplace where could fly in, spend a couple of days, and then fly back.  A place where "yes" means yes and "done" means done.  This is what lead to the founding of Nearsoft.

We also wanted to create an internal culture to match that of our clients'.  A culture attractive to software developers who approach their work as a craft.  Our clients put a lot of love into creating their software, and they don't want just anybody to come in and mess with it.

Our clients are not always right, and we let them know when that's so.  Saying "yes" to every request, without judgement is of no real value to anybody.  Our clients value our point of view and ideas and the fact that we get to know their business, not just their architecture.

Nearsoft is not the right fit for everyone. But it does work very well for software product companies like our clients.

Founder Bios

We are a very flat organization, without titles or a hierarchy.  However, we know that people always want to know about the crazy folks who got things started, so here we have listed their short bios, below.

Pages for everybody else in the team are "coming soon."

Roberto Martínez, CEO

Roberto Martinez has been a leader in several startups in the outsourcing space. In fact, he started his first outsourcing business while attending college.

Previously to joining Nearsoft, he was CEO of C3 Technologies where he led the company to compete in international markets, garnering major, Fortune 500 customers.

Earlier in his career Roberto had technical roles with companies like CEMEX and Ford. He's also lead projects at OTIS, Walbro Engine Management, CMax, PEPSI among others.

Roberto is a graduate of the prestigious Tech de Monterrey, the top University in Mexico and a world-class institution with students from all over the world.

He is also a boxer.  Go figure.
